Growing up, perusing through The National Geographic Magazine was my vacation. I would go to the public library and to the magazine shelf and dream about all the places I wanted to visit. One day way back when I was in the 2nd grade, I picked up a copy and Machu Picchu was on the cover. I had never heard of the historic site before and I was fascinated by the photos. At the moment, Machu Picchu shot to the top of my bucket list. Finally, at the age of 50, I got to visit the historic site.
